Hotel Breaches Continue with Wyndham: 3 Incidents

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has planted a lawsuit on Wyndham Hotels for 3 incidents of ID fraud. Much of the complaint is why the FTC planted the lawsuit.

The attacks/breaches have happened three times in the past few years, and intruders made off with financial information. This was done on their Phoenix data center.

The resultant numbers: half-million credit-card numbers from 39 hotels in three different breaches, sent to a Russian server in plain-text.

Hotels have been a recent target for malware in the past few years. Mostly because hotel networks are likely not-as-protected, and are vulnerable to attack.
